Topshop Spring/ Summer 2011

So this is some of the pieces that i personally like, from Topshop Spring/ Summer 2011 Collection. 4 different colours used as the background. I guess to categorize the different styles.

Introducing..............

1) Grey background- Simple structure, symmetrical and asymmetrical, plain and solid colours with a little touch of bright and vibrant hues.

2) Orange background- Country girl inspired, floral prints and trimmings, very girly.

3) Teal background- Lots of chiffon, paisley printed.

Love the platforms here~

4) Pink Red background- Young and playful

Love the shoes here!

I hope it will be in our local stores! Been very depressed that some gorgeous pieces from the past Autumn/ Winter collection were not brought in ): They BETTER bring it this collection!! Especially those pieces in the the grey background! I would so wear them!! Not forgetting their footwear too! Awesome. Oh, their price.

Ad for GAP? No.

We used to poke fun of people with bad teeth; bunny tooth, crooked tooth, gap tooth. People who, unfortunately, have them, have low self esteem and confidence because of it. Most will quickly do something about it to solve that. By putting braces. But on the runway, gap toothed models are highly sought after now. Times have changed i guess...

These are just a few of the runway and print ad models that are more known to people and uhm, about their teeth.

1) Abbey Lee Kershaw, 24 this year, Australian model, walked for big brands like Chanel, Gucci, Prada, Burberry, Dior, Givenchy, Yves Saint Laurent, Miu Miu, Alexander McQueen and many more.

Her's not that obvious.

2) Lindsey Wixson, 17 this year, US model, walked for Miu Miu, Tommy Hilfiger, Louis Vuitton, Valentino and many more.

She has a unique face feature- a butt chin, which is a chin that has a small/large dent in the center.

3) Lara Stone, 28 this year, Dutch model, walked for Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Lanvin, Miu Miu, Prada, Anna Sui, Marc Jacobs, Hermes, Victoria's Secret and many more.

4) Ashley Smith, 20 this year, born in Texas, appeared in ELLE editorial, British Harper's Bazaar, Italian Vogue, i-D, TOPSHOP.

So, afterall, beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, yeah? Comment and let me know what you think!

Wedding Bells

Elie Saab Spring Couture 2011

1) Black. Not too revealing however still sexy and black just makes it mysterious! The second piece reminds me a little of Chanel.

2) Olive. Classy and young in olive! Compliment women with very fair skin.

3) Peach. Pretty in peach! Sophisticated and shows the rosy side of women.

4) Floral printed. Floral printed makes wedding gowns interesting and out of the norm.

5) Bustiers, one shoulder, cap sleeved.

6) My favourite out of the lot! Complete with a lacy embroided veil, this dress is amazing.

7) Footwear in Elie Saab Spring Couture 2011- loving the red pair

These are a few pieces of Elie Saab's Spring Couture for 2011. I always wanted wedding gowns from Vera Wang. Guess i made a mistake! (Sorry Ms Vera!) I practically love all the gowns in this collection! Interesting designs on gowns while toning down with the footwear makes it balanced. The styling is good too. Bunned hair with loose streaks makes a lady more feminine and sexy. Nude make up so as to allow all attention to be on the detailed gowns. I would so wear them all if I have the opportunity!

Trend-spotting

This season, ombre hair and dip dyed hair is spotted on runways and on celebs!
Ombre hair is when you dye your hair using a dark colour from the top of your head and form a graduation to the bottom of your hair with lighter colours....

Ombre hair as seen on:

Dip Dyed Hair is when you tint your hair only at your hair ends... mostly commonly with cotton candy colours and creating the "dip" effect... (hence the name)

Dip Dyed Hair as seen on:

I personally like the Dip Dyed Hair, hence, i'm doing a longer part for it(:

I really like the Dip Dyed style!! But you know, it's really hard to maintain the colour!
Especially on asian's black hair. Firstly, it's hard to enhance the colour during the dye-ing process compared to dye-ing it on blondes...
Don't get it?
Alright, if you use a green colour pencil to colour on a piece of white paper and a piece of black paper, which piece of paper will have a brighter and more obvious green?
There. White.
Same logic on asian's black hair to non-asian's "white" hair. (P/S I didn't just create this logic. It was from a professional hair stylist.)
However, i'd definitely love to try!
Hmmm, maybe with dusty blue or ash green!
